do you know the parable of the prodigal son ?
a young man demands and receives his patrimony and goes to a distant
town and engages in riotous living
later his money spent and the town befell by calamity he returns home
his father greets him and tells an elder son to prepare
the fatted calf for feasting and merriment
the elder son struck with envy and jealousy protests
his father replies that all he possesses will go to him
as all the father ever wanted he now has
the younger son who was away and is now returned
the reactions to our economic crisis are bewildering as the solution is obvious
first inform everyone the time of riotous living is over
second print and distribute enough money to maintain social peace
but instead a multitude insist that increasing the suppy of money
is akin to slaughtering the fatted calf
they demand that instead of feasting and merriment the american he and she
should be smited and cast into the wildeness for fourty years of wandering
what is the point of america being the richest nation in human history
if it refuses to spend its money ?
